In order to encourage the Communities of Owners and the owners of buildings in Barcelona to rehabilitate them, the City Council has provided an item in the Barcelona Housing Consortium of more than 14 million euros that will be allocated to grant applications that meet the requirements and are submitted before December 31 of this year.

These subsidies must be used for structural works in the building, interior of houses, removal of architectural barriers and obsolete elements, energy saving actions, solar energy, installation of elevators, etc.

In the case of buildings that include rented dwellings, a series of requirements are established for the subsidy to be obtained, for example, that the duration of the contract is a minimum of five years from the final certificate of work, that the rental prices are of certain amounts, that are not homes for tourist use, and in the event that the homes are empty, the granting of the subsidy is conditional on the inclusion of the homes in the Barcelona Social Rental Exchange for a period of five years.
