Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution system, which avoids the parties going to court, since an impartial third party, the arbitrator, resolves the dispute within a limited period of time, by means of a final award, which is equivalent to a final and binding court judgment.

The parties may agree that the arbitration shall be conducted and resolved in law or in equity.

The Tribunal Arbitral de Barcelona (TAB) selects the list of arbitrators after a selection process among professionals with proven experience. It will then be the arbitrator who, in an independent and impartial manner, will be in charge of resolving the conflict, in a definitive manner, by means of a binding and enforceable award.
